GUINEA PIG BRINGS JOY TO CARE HOME RESIDENTS

Pet Therapy Visit Belmont Care

A visit from a furry friend has brought smiles and comfort to residents of Sandbanks Lodge residential care home in Kent, owned and operated by Belmont Healthcare.

Animal handling therapy experts Zoo Lab brought along a loveable guinea pig to bring a smile to the residents. The calming effects of the very social guinea pig were far felt as the fluffy little animal made its rounds, swaddled in a comforting blanket for residents to hold, comfort, and pet.

Lyselle Tart, Manager at Belmont Healthcare, said: “Animal therapy is something we promote and is a regular activity in our home. Residents look forward to it and engage with it.

“The presence of animals at Sandbanks certainly brings joy to the home and anything that makes our residents happy has got to be a good thing.”

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of care for those in need, specialising in Dementia, Parkinson’s and Specialist Elderly Support situated in delightful settings around Kent and East Sussex.
