CATERING ACADEMY OPENS 10 EXTRA CARE SCHEMES

National independent contract catering company, Catering Academy, has opened 10 Extra Care schemes with housing association, Saxon Weald, further strengthening its presence in the healthcare sector. The sites are located across the south coast of England, spanning Eastbourne to Southampton.

The schemes were mobilised on 1st November 2014 and Team Academy is now successfully serving over 430 residents daily.

Each of the schemes has a bespoke menu tailored to those living in the Extra Care housing, which provides residents with the appropriate nutrition and hydration, as well as effective visual and sensory communication. Catering Academy is also due to implement a waiting-on service at the sites in the upcoming months.

Catering Academy is continuously increasing its operations within the healthcare sector and has now successfully mobilised multi-site contracts in the field. As its portfolio in this sector has grown, so has the Catering Academy team; new recruits with industry specific training have added support to the existing staff and have optimised the Team Academy infrastructure.

Catering Academy also recently took part in the South East regions Community Meals Week road relay, to raise awareness of the importance of community meals in the face of cuts to essential services. Team Academy delivered a plated meal to Hanover Rotary Lodge from Saxon Weald Highdown Court in Worthing.
