The top care homes in the UK have been revealed by care home reviews website carehome.co.uk. In a bid to make it easier for care seekers to find the right care home, each year carehome.co.uk names the Top 20 care homes in all 12 regions across the UK, alongside the top care home groups.
There are around 11 million people aged 65 and over – nearly a fifth of the UK’s total population – and this age group is predicted to grow, making up 24% of the population by 2043 and driving an increasing demand for care homes.
Looking for a suitable care home and navigating the complexities of the social care system can be a stressful experience, and the awards are meant to help guide care seekers in the right direction by spotlighting high-performing care providers.
Out of 17,000 homes in the UK, the Top 20 in each region have been selected based on over 109,000 reviews written by residents, as well as their friends and families in the past year.
Every year since their launch in 2014, the Top 20 awards take into consideration a wide range of criteria, including the care homes’ overall standard and facilities, the quality of care and support, the value for money, the standard of food, staff, activities, management, security, and whether residents are treated with dignity and respect.
