CQC praises St Helen's care home

CQC praises St Helen’s care home

Lymewood Court care home in St Helen’s, part of Bondcare St Andrew’s, is celebrating after receiving a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission.

The home, based on Piele road, Haydock, was found to be fully compliant will all the required standards following an inspection published recently.

The inspector noted that “people who used the service, their relatives and carers felt [it] was safe and people told us they were happy with the care and support they received.”

The report also stated that “systems were in place to regularly assess and monitor risks to individuals and the environment, catering and care planning.”

Residents comments included it’s “a very happy place”, “the staff are good” and “we have a good laugh”.

In addition to the very positive report from the regulator, Lymewood Court has also received a 5 star hygiene rating from the local council.

Lymewood Court is a 46 bedded purpose-built care home, providing residential and nursing care, and short term respite care, for older people as well as specialising in palliative care.

Home manager Carol Morley said: “This very positive report is testament to the hard work of all the staff. Quality is at the heart of everything we do and it is pleasing to have this independent verification of our care.”
