GLOUCESTER CARE HOME CELEBRATES 50TH BIRTHDAY

The Knoll Care Home in Tuffley celebrated its 50th birthday with a special ‘flower power’ party for residents and their families.

A popular Gloucester care home has celebrated its 50th birthday with a special ‘flower power’ party for residents and their families.

The Knoll Care Home in Tuffley, which opened in 1967, held the 60s themed event which featured a Cake Bake Off, a puppet show and live music from 60s cover band Out of the Box.

The Knoll is part of the privately-owned Redwood Healthcare Group, and is set within 15 acres of grounds with views over Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.

The birthday celebration was very well attended, including a special guest, the city’s sheriff Councillor Said Hansdot.

Manager Debbie Smith said: “50 years is a wonderful landmark so we wanted to celebrate it with an event our residents, their families and our staff could enjoy and get involved in.

“It was a great afternoon made extra special by Councillor Hansdot attending. We are so grateful for his support and for everyone coming to spend a fun afternoon with us. The feedback from residents has been fantastic and we look forward to the home’s next 50 years.”
