Take the McVitie’s Tasties Care Home Challenge

The McVitie’s Tasties Biscuit Decorating Competitio
pladis, the global snack company behind McVitie’s and Jacob’s, has teamed up with the National Activities Providers Association (NAPA) to find the nation’s best decorated biscuit.

To celebrate Afternoon Tea Week and the launch of McVitie’s Tasties Care Home Challenge, pladis is looking for the nation’s best decorated biscuit. The competition is live from the 10 August, challenging care homes across the country to get creative and make a biscuit masterpiece built on a memory.

The best creation will be crowned champion and rewarded with a special afternoon tea package worth up to £1,000 for the care home and its residents.

Scott Snell, Vice President Sales, UK & Ireland, pladis, said: “At pladis we promise happiness with every bite and to live that promise we’re focusing our efforts on how we can reduce loneliness and instead bring more happiness to care homes across the UK.”

“We’ve partnered with NAPA to create a series of biscuit-themed activities and a competition that we hope will bring a smile and provoke some happy memories among residents. It’s simple to take part; homes just need to choose a theme, decorate their biscuit and share a photo with us along with a short message about why the theme was chosen.”

Hilary Woodhead, Executive Director NAPA, said: “We’re delighted to work with pladis on this lovely campaign - The McVitie’s Tasties Biscuit Decorating Competition. NAPA members are committed to providing opportunities for engagement that are meaningful, fun and stimulating. The ideas provided in the pack will inspire the imagination and we’re sure we’ll see some fantastic competition entries. This is a fabulous prize that will enable a wonderful afternoon tea activity for the lucky winner – so get involved and good luck!”

Entries open on 10 August at the start of Afternoon Tea Week. Care homes will then have until 30 October to submit their entry on email to belinda@williamurray.co.uk. The winner will be announced week commencing 2 November.

The competition forms part of a larger care home activities pack designed to reduce loneliness and bring even more happiness to care homes. Packs can be downloaded for free here along with full competition details.
