GRACEWELL OF SWAY CARE HOME ACHIEVES ‘OUTSTANDING’ RATING

Gracewell of Sway has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the UK regulator of all health and social care services.

The local care home attained the certification on 18 November following a review of the care home by inspectors.

Previously rated as ‘Good’ following their last inspection in 2018, the team at Gracewell of Sway have worked extremely hard in pursuit of an ‘Outstanding’ rating – the highest award available. The award is based on an assessment of the safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness, and leadership at a care home.

The inspectors highlighted that residents were cared for by a motivated and well-trained team, who always put people first. As well as this, the CQC noted the continual positive feedback they received, and the exceptional relationships formed between team members, residents, and their families. This was ultimately a decisive factor behind the care home’s certification as ‘Outstanding’.

Rachel Bedford, General Manager of Gracewell of Sway, said: “We’re delighted to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC. Everybody at Gracewell of Sway has worked tremendously hard this past year, and this accomplishment is testament to these remarkable efforts. We pride ourselves on the extraordinary care and support provided to our residents, and it is wonderful for this to be recognised.”

Martina Lamden, Gracewell Healthcare’s Regional Director of Operations for the South West, added: “This title means a great deal to Gracewell of Sway. Recognition as ‘Outstanding’ shows just how exceptional the care home really is. Navigating Covid-19 has been immensely challenging for the care home, but as demonstrated by their enduring commitment and efforts to their residents and team members, Gracewell of Sway have proven that they are truly an industry-leading care home. Congratulations all.”
