Fairmile Grange in Christchurch has appointed a new care home manager, who is bringing over 15 years of healthcare management experience to the role.

Prior to joining the state-of-the-art residential and dementia care home, Cecilia Thomson gained a vast amount of experience in Sweden, the Middle East and the UK, taking on various roles including a previous care home management position in Cambridge. Cecilia has also achieved a bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science and Nursing Science Education.

Cecilia is looking forward to building on Fairmile Grange’s outstanding service as part of a team of expertly trained staff, who are supportive and provide the highest standard of care to residents.

Commenting on her new position, Cecilia said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as home manager at Fairmile Grange and I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to improve on the excellent standards here. My three main roles at Fairmile Grange will be to lead the home, make sure we have a strong internal team and to ensure residents are happy and feel like that they are at a home away from home.

“Getting to know our residents and working closely with the brilliant, passionate team of staff to identify new activities and wellbeing methods is my top priority. I fully recognise the value of introducing different therapy techniques, such as pet therapy, which has the ability to improve social interaction, reduce feelings of loneliness and boost a person’s general wellbeing.”

Fairmile Grange is an 80-bed care home, which is managed by Encore Care Homes. Situated in the grounds of Christchurch Hospital, Fairmile Grange has state-of-the-art facilities and a stunning landscaped garden.
