Belong Director contributes to ’Not Another Care Handbook’
Tracy Paine has been recognised for her expertise on transforming the role of nurses in a care setting, and has contributed a chapter about the subject to 'Not another care handbook: Pearls of wisdom for care managers'. Tracy is the Operations Director at Nantwich-based care provider, Belong, which operates community care villages across the North West of England.

The shortage of registered nurses within care homes in the UK is a recognised problem, but earlier this year Belong villages formalised an agreement with the Royal College of Nursing to build stronger ties with nurses around the UK. Shortly after, Belong recruited its first Admiral Nurse, bringing specialist dementia support and advice to the care villages across the North West.

Speaking of her contribution to the book, Tracy said: "Nurses are paramount to the wellbeing of customers in care settings, which is why at Belong we have worked to develop the role of a village nurse. It was an honour to be asked to share my experiences around this issue alongside so many other experts in the field."

'Not another care handbook' contains recommendations from leading care experts about issues affecting the role of the manager in a care home. The book launched at Savills' new central headquarters in London, and is edited by Dr Richard Hawkins, editor-in-chief of Caring Times, with a forward written by Barbara Pointon, patron of Dementia UK and ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society.
