RIGHT AT HOME LAUNCHES PARTNERSHIP WITH ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY

Homecare provider Right at Home has announced the launch of its new charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

Homecare provider Right at Home has announced the launch of its new charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

The franchise has pledged to raise more than £20,000 for the charity across its network of 59 locally-owned offices in the UK and the two organisations will also work together to share best practice and knowledge on the disease.

Right at Home regularly holds Dementia Friends information sessions but it is now committed to creating 1,000 new Friends within the next 12 months. Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which aims to give people a better understanding of what it is like living with dementia.

Right at Home will be kickstarting its fundraising efforts during Dementia Action Week, running from 20th - 26th May, before preparing to bake for Cupcake Day on 13th June – one of Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship events. The partnership will also see staff at Right at Home embarking on a number of high-energy activities to raise money for the charity.

Speaking on the partnership, Right at Home UK CEO Ken Deary said: “As a national provider of homecare services, we are already committed to holding dementia-friendly activities for our clients and communities, as well as educating businesses and schools on how best to support those living with dementia.

“Given our knowledge and the specialist care services we offer, it seems the natural step to join forces with a charity that is a great support system for those living with dementia.

“We are excited as a network to work together to reach our fundraising target and continue raising awareness of dementia in the communities where we live and operate.”

Charlotte Matier, Director of Fundraising, added: “Alzheimer’s Society is delighted to be chosen by Right at Home as their first charity partner. We are very excited to be working together with an organisation like Right at Home, who have a real passion for providing quality care and support to people in the community.”
