Langford Centre works with Brighton & Hove Albion
Published on 30/06/2014
The Langford Centre in Bexhill-on-Sea, part of specialist care provider Glen Care, has supported 13 service users to enhance their skills.
The service users have completed a 12-week Level 1 employability course organised by Albion in the Community, with qualifications comparable to an NVQ Level 1 and GCSE grade D – G.
The courses will equip service users with some of the necessary skills to enable them to begin the pathway towards more independent living. The Langford Centre has 50 beds in low secure and locked rehabilitation accommodation. It is part of the Glen Care Group, which is a specialist provider of low secure hospitals, locked rehabilitation hospitals, enhanced Residential services and Supported Living for detained and informal patients.
Albion in the Community uses the power of football and the reach of Brighton & Hove Albion to deliver projects in the areas of health, education, disability and social inclusion all underpinned by our core themes – increasing participation, creating opportunities, tackling inequalities and improving health.
Vanessa Ling, hospital director at the Langford Centre, said: “Providing the opportunity for a clear care pathway into supported or more independent living is a crucial part for the care and treatment for some service users.
“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Albion in the Community, which delivers these courses which provide vital skills for service users to ensure they can integrate into the community or work environment with our support.”
