CARE SALARIES ARE INCREASING, ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH

It’s clear that businesses across the care industry are working hard to attract talented candidates into their roles, with advertised salaries witnessing a 8.4% increase month-on-month, according to the latest data from UK job site CV-Library.

It’s clear that businesses across the care industry are working hard to attract talented candidates into their roles, with advertised salaries witnessing a 8.4% increase month-on-month, according to the latest data from UK job site CV-Library.

The data explored fluctuations in salaries, jobs and applications throughout April and found that the care industry also saw salaries rising by 7.2% when compared with data from the same period in 2017.

Lee Biggins, Founder and Managing Director of CV-Library, commented: “It’s great to see that employers across the care sector are remaining positive in the face of ongoing uncertainty and this is particularly true given the impact of the widening skills gap on the industry. With salaries rising across the sector, the data suggests that the competition to secure the top talent isn’t letting up any time soon!”

Furthermore, job vacancies were also up last month, increasing by a staggering 15.7% year-on-year. That said, candidate appetite didn’t quite keep pace with employer demand, with application rates dropping by 13.7% when compared with data from April 2017.

Lee added: “Last month’s ONS employment figures also revealed that unemployment rates had dropped once again, suggesting that individuals are nervous about moving jobs right now. This, coupled with the drop in application rates across the industry, suggests that employers within the care profession must continue to offer the most competitive packages they can, in order to entice candidates out of their current roles.”
