Albion Ventures completes Oakland Care Centre exit

Albion Ventures LLP, an independent venture capital investor, has announced the successful sale of its investment in Oakland Care Centre Limited.

The initial investment of £4.35m was made between November 2010 and October 2011 and was followed by £0.85m in April 2014. As a result of the sale, Albion Ventures has achieved 25% Internal Rate of Return (IRR) over a period of four years.

Oakland Care Centre provides residential care for up to 46 residents in a purpose built care home in Chingford. The home incorporates the latest thinking in the provision of elderly care and employs highly trained staff under the supervision of an experienced care management team.

The centre was recently awarded The 16th National Care Awards for ‘Best Care Home UK’, with the organisers stating that it was given the award for providing “the very best care in an inclusive and luxurious setting”.

Albion Ventures continues to invest actively in the elderly care sector and has secured several new investment opportunities for development in 2015 and beyond.

Emil Gigov, Partner at Albion Ventures said: “This is a model that we are keen to build on and we now have the opportunity to reinvest the funds in new care home developments such as the recently acquired sites in Cumnor Hill and Hillingdon and a pipeline of further sites under exclusivity.”
