CQC awards specialist care home highest quality rating

Craegmoor’s Hamilton House care home in Malvern, has received the highest quality rating from the Care Quality Commission.

Following a recent inspection visit, the home met all required standards associated with monitoring the quality of service, safeguarding users from abuse, the care and welfare of service users and the requirements related to workers.

Hamilton House is registered to provide 24 hour support for six people with autism and complex needs.

The CQC report concluded that “staff had received training and were clear about their roles and responsibilities”. It also said that “care plans reflected both the needs and choices of people” and “staff had a good knowledge of people’s care needs”.

The inspector also highlighted that the service provided at Hamilton House was responsive to people’s needs: “People were asked for their views about the service. Monthly surveys were undertaken. Regular residents meetings were held. People were encouraged to make choices about the way the service was provided.”

Sarah Hughes, Managing Director of Craegmoor, said: “Our staff work incredibly hard to make sure residents at Hamilton House receive the best quality of support possible. This latest CQC report is a great acknowledgement of their care and dedication.”

Hamilton House focus is on the importance of choice and helping people to improve communication and daily living skills.
