BANBURY CARE HOME TO SUPPORT ONE LOVE MANCHESTER APPEAL

A Banbury care home has pledged funds to support the One Love Manchester Appeal at its community open day event.

A Banbury care home has pledged funds to support the One Love Manchester Appeal at its community open day event.

Featherton House, on Chapel Square, initially planned to raise money for its residents to enjoy a day out with the hiring of a minibus. However, following the recent tragic Manchester terror attack, staff and residents pledged to donate half of its proceeds from the event to the appeal.

The home is hosting its open day on Saturday 17th June at 2pm-4.30pm, with a number of events taking place, including various stalls, raffles and activities for youngsters, as well as refreshments.

Holly Rose, Home Manager at Featherton House, said: “We are always looking at ways to provide residents with more activities and trips out, but we all agreed that it would be fitting to use the open day as an opportunity to support those in need too. The tragic events in Manchester were terrible and hopefully we will be able to raise plenty of money, which will contribute to helping the families of the victims.

“It is shaping up to be a fantastic event and provides an opportunity for our residents to interact with the wider community, as well as the chance for people to tour our facilities, while taking part in a host of fun activities for an excellent cause.”
